Here's the second interview with Jimmy Carl Black. It was recorded on August 7th, 2007 in Oslo. 

Black was in Oslo to promote the Jon Larsen album Strange News From Mars, which was released the day after this interview took place. Our first conversation took place on the day before Black went into the studio with Larsen.

In January and August of 2007, I did two interviews with Jimmy Carl Black in Oslo. Mr. Black is best know as drummer and "Indian of the Group" in Frank Zappa's 1960's band The Mothers of Invention.

Now 70 years old, Jimmy Carl Black is still a touring musician, releasing records under his own name and with other artists. Among them the Norwegian artist Jon Larsen, who released Strange News From Mars last year and plans to turn that project into a album trilogy.

In these interviews, Black talks about his life and carreer. Anecdotes from his time with Zappa and the Mothers and with Captain Beefheart, with whom he toured in 1975. Why he doesn't like Frank Zappa' widow Gail. Why he does like Robbie Williams. Why he decided to move to Germany in the early 1990's, and more.
